Use of Language at Magical Women Events
We hope and expect that all Magical Women participants view our community as a relaxed, nurturing and supportive space for all involved, especially for those whose Neurodivergent behaviours, stims and traits are so often unwelcome in other spaces.
The process of creating art is incredibly personal, and emotions may run high at times, whether in our workshops or within our online communities. However, we take a zero tolerance approach to any use of language that we deem to be discriminatory, especially anything deemed racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic or otherwise prejudicial, this includes cultural appropriation.
Addressing hateful or violent language does not mean limiting or prohibiting freedom of speech within our practice. It means we are committed to protecting the wellbeing of our participants and facilitators (who are both Neurodivergent) and preventing this from escalating into bullying, discrimination, prejudice or hostility. This includes harassment.
Any discriminatory dialogue either in person or online will be dealt with swiftly. Rudeness, disrespect, gate keeping, aggression, bullying, belittling or other harmful behaviours will not be tolerated within any Magical Women events or spaces and those responsible will be asked to leave. Multiple instances will result in a permanent ban.
Any opinion or feedback around the facilitators should not be expressed during Magical Women events, but instead can be discussed at a later time, in order to honour the relaxed space and the practice undertaken within it.
Any views that may be expressed within our events are of the individual, and are not intended to represent official Magical Women opinions.
