Magical Women introduces 6 Bath Rituals

Why are bath rituals so powerful? Bath rituals need no words – but having an intention, a mantra or affirmation can be really powerful.

To meet your access needs, read the mantra or affirmation into your phone recorder and then play it back to you whilst you’re in the bath. These Mantras and Affirmations will soon be available online for you to use for these bath rituals.

01

SENSUAL, SEDUCTIVE BATH RITUAL

Affirmation: I am Sensual.

Sung as a Mantra: I am Sensual. I am aligned with my sensuality. I ignite my inner Goddess. I am magic. I am music. I am playing with all the notes and keys in my heart. Unlock my heart, unlock my song, I sing it with you. I sing it with you. The time is now. I am beginning. I am beginning again. Anew.

For the diffuser:

5 drops Neroli
3 drops Rose
2 drops Jasmine
2 drops Bergamot

For the bath:

3 drops Neroli, 3 drops Rose, 2 drops Jasmine and 1 drop Bergamot

As you add the drops to the bath, say the affirmation out loud or to yourself while you drop dried or Fresh Rose Petals into the bath.

02

TENDER, ROMANTIC BATH RITUAL

Affirmation: I am Tender.

Sung as a Mantra: I am Tender. I am Romantic. I am shining with light and beauty. I ignite my inner Goddess to love and be loved. I am a Goddess of love, of peace, of light. I am a Magical Woman. I am like a wildness, I am the wild of the flower, the breeze, the storm, the rain, the ocean, the waves. I am anew.

For the diffuser:

2 drops Rose
3 drops Ylang Ylang
1 drop Sandalwood

For the bath:

3 drops Rose, 3 drops Ylang Ylang, 1 drop Sandalwood

03

EUPHORIC Bath Ritual

Affirmation: I am Eurphoria.

Sung as a Mantra: I am Eurphoria. I am Eurphoric. I am You. You are me. I am brighter than the shining star and I am reflecting with moon shine, remembering where I found my shine. Thank you stars, thank you moon, thank you world. I embrace you.

For the diffuser:

10 drops Jasmine
3 drops Ylang Ylang
2 drops Bergamot

For the bath:

6 drops Jasmine, 3 drops Ylang Ylang, 1 drop Bergamot

04

PURE PASSION BATH RITUAL

Affirmation: I am a Jewel in the lotus.

Sung as a Mantra: I am a Jewel in the lotus. Hear me Say. Om Kama Devaya Vidhmahe, Pushpa Vanaya Dheemahe, Thanno Kama Prachodayath.

For the bath:

6 drops Jasmine, 3 drops Ylang Ylang, 1 drop Bergamot

05

BLISSFUL SENSATIONS BATH RITUAL

Affirmation: I am Radiant and I am experiencing bliss.

Sung as a Mantra: Radiance glows in me as I experience bliss. Every phase and every transition in my life is valid. Tonight I enter the sacred space of a new world and a new life. Today I am blissful. Today I go deep within the sanctuary of my soul and I let go to the dreams you want to fill me with.

Sometimes, pre recording this affirmation in your own voice and repeating it several times, then playing it while you’re in the bath can help you to refocus your mind into your soul purpose and be with blissful feelings of being alive, and being gracious in your experience of asking for the divine goodness that will support you during troubled times.

For the bath:

2 drops Jasmine

Calm during Covid 19

For the bath:

5 drops Geranium
2 drops Patchouli
2 drops Ylang Ylang or 2 drops Lavender
2 drops Bergamot
1 drops Chamomile

It’s essential you stick to the number of drops for this bath. Do not exceed the number of drops. If it feels better, put the number of drops into a diffuser instead, or within your normal shampoo or conditioner.

If you’d prefer it as a body cream or massage oil, add this soothing blend to coconut or almond oil or flaxseed oil and add to your body. It is a nourishing and warming blend that will bring you calm and strength.

Join us in a space and place to consciously step away from the stresses of our lives – to move away from busyness and doing.

About this event

PHEROZA SAHNI: PERMISSION TO PAUSE –

“creating a space for students to find their own space”

Workshop Info

In this workshop, we will begin by considering the effects of stress on both our bodies and minds. We will explore the function of the stress response and the impact of chronic stress.

Our practice together will be a space and place to consciously step away from the stresses of our lives – to move away from busyness and doing.

We will explore some simple practices that can help ground us; come into our bodies and into the present moment; focus our awareness through the use of the breath; release tension with gentle movement and experience restorative rest.

No previous experience of yoga is required. Please make sure to be somewhere private, warm and comfortable for the practice – with access to either a yoga mat or bed and blanket.

Biography

Pheroza Sahni is a Yoga Therapist, Yoga and Pregnancy Yoga Teacher, Mindfulness & Compassion Teacher based in North London. She has been teaching for over ten years and practising for almost twenty!

“My classes are open to everyone. I encourage my students to practice in a way that best supports and nourishes them, to meet themselves where they are.

“It feels like there is so much to worry about nowadays: the world is in chaos, we suffer with greater stress, we work longer hours with little support and are often busy and rushed. We often feel alone. Using a combination of mindful movement, breath work, awareness and relaxation practices, we are better able to support and empower ourselves. Simple tools help us navigate the messy path of being human – opening our hearts, and providing us with a greater capacity to be kind not only to ourselves but also to those around us.

“In my own life, these practices have supported me immensely. What I most love about teaching is the journey with students as they discover for themselves what it is that they most need. Through slowing down, and creating moments of space and pause, the ability to listen more deeply arises. In learning to trust and become more familiar with our heartfelt desires, true transformation arises. I look forward to practising together.”

Learn how to truly think for yourselves and to create an environment where others can do their best independent thinking.

About this event

Part of the MW’s CPD for Neurodivergent Artists & Creatives! collection

Workshop

Meg’s workshops will introduce participants to the notion and practices of The Thinking Environment, work pioneered by Nancy Kline which has been personally and professionally transformative for so many people.

The workshop will help participants to learn how to truly think for themselves and to create an environment where others can do their best independent thinking. Attention from one person produces fresh thinking in another. The quality of what we do and what we create is based on the quality of our thinking.

The teaching of the Thinking Environment is experiential; a shared experience of thinking and conversing together, where the findings and way of being in this work are gently explored.

Meg’s work is influenced by all the people she has met throughout life, and in particular Nancy Kline, whose work is focused on creating the conditions for people to do their best independent thinking.

Elinor and Gemma write to remind you that survivors of violence are still not trusted

This is an old article published on the Camden People’s Theatre website.

Republished here because it belongs here.

Way to the Pretty by Elinor Rowlands

_________

Way to the Pretty is a piece of verbatim theatre that sweeps into song and ends with poetry.

Rowlands can never do anything simply. This will be her debut theatre directing piece, she usually directs experimental films and creates poetry soundscapes, one of which will be performed at the end of the piece.

This will be the first time for her to bring work to a live audience.

Trying out her ideas at Camden People’s Theatre’s feminist festival is a way for her to see how the audience reacts to the bombardment of information she processes on a daily basis.

A Disabled artist, Rowlands has never shied away from being open about her impairments, and instead of creating to the mainstream, has used her impairments as a tool in which to create work.

Her piece is from a transcript from a rape case between barrister and witness*. (*A rape victim is known as a ‘Witness’ in court.)

However, Rowlands didn’t want to focus too much on the harrowing parts of the transcript and chose only pieces which highlighted the flaws in our egalitarian ideals by playing with how gender is approached in court.

Photograph by Luana Martignon of Tim Woods and Elinor Rowlands

She has also been shortlisted as an Emerging Artist to make the full application for funding to Unlimited for her piece Survivor which grew from Way to the Pretty. The latter deals with how women are torn to shreds in court whilst Survivor deals with the aftermath of both the trauma and the judicial abuse they receive in court – what happens when disabled female survivors have to knuckle on against the tide of life.

(Update 2020 – I didn’t get chosen – but hey, my life led me to developing Magical Women! )

But back to Way to the Pretty – Through verbatim theatre, tap dancing, film, sound, music, song and poetry, we can grasp onto the ridiculousness that is society’s ingrained notion to dismiss and not believe women who survive violent crimes.

This piece calls for women to be heard, listened to, supported and most of all be believed when she comes forward about a crime committed against her.

The way women are treated in court means women are still being cross examined as if they have encouraged the crime to be committed to themselves and this needs to end.

When will we start believing women instead of demonising them?

Response from Gemma Abbott, the actress in Way to the Pretty on what it was like working on this piece:

Socks stuffed into my pants

I spent large parts of this rehearsal process with socks stuffed into my pants.

To open out my stance.

To protect myself,

To allow for required spread,

The largesse.

This swagger that I had to develop,

To play this part,

And regurgitate such horrors.

The bile has risen in my throat at points,

Sick at myself for these words I must spew forth,

Once spoken by another,

A respectable gentleman.

I decided to replace the socks with a symbol.

Some little protest lodged there in my pants.

Helping me to be brave,

To be fearless in my portrayal,

My transformation into another so far removed from my own tender morals.

Because this story is important.

Because we should not be frightened to make these things heard.

Because we unfortunately still need to fight to be trusted.
