Call for Submissions: Magical Women album!
Are you a musician, singer, or sound artist who identifies as a woman or non-binary? We’re excited to announce an open call for a groundbreaking new album!
About the Album:
This will be the FIRST album in the UK to feature autistic and/or ADHD women and non-binary artists, showcasing a range of styles and genres.
Submission Guidelines:
– Eligibility: Open to artists who identify as women and/or non-binary folk. Poets are welcome if your practice includes music and/or sound.
– Cost: Submission is free!
– Compensation: Selected artists will be paid a small fee for their contributions—whether an existing track or a new creation. Magical Women will register all PRS Artists on the album, if you’re not a member of PRS you can join them here, joining means you can receive royalties however this is not a necessity as your fee should cover the first 3 years and membership can be expensive.
Your Rights & Benefits:
– Royalties: PRS members receive royalties for plays, streams, or purchases.
– License Agreement: By submitting, you grant @magicalwomenart a license to use your track for the album. We will send artist agreements out to all contributing artists.
Our Commitment to Access:
We’re dedicated to creating a supportive space for disabled and neurodivergent artists, recognising the struggles of executive dysfunction (you might have a few tracks in the works but never the opportunity to release them etc)
Note: we do not provide access support, this can be paid for via your own Access to Work applications. However, we will be providing a music producer to help produce your music.
If the form is inaccessible to you please email Info@magicalwomen.co.uk an audio or video answering the relevant questions alongside links to relevant work/tracks
Additional Opportunities:
We’re also seeking visual artists for the album cover and lyrics booklet (paid opportunity)!
Join Us!
We’re eager to hear your music and collaborate! Spread the word and let’s create something beautiful!
Disclaimer:
We are not an organisation and do not have extensive funds; this is an artist-led initiative. For organisation-led opportunities, we recommend exploring @helpmusicians and @prsformusic @prsfoundation for additional resources.
Access support for this project by @valeriiiaaaaa who will help produce the album and @annabelevelyn who will help design the album cover.
